I read 12 books this year and met my goal! I have upped my reading goal to be 52 books now and I plan on focusing on a different reading challenge next. I think I am going to attempt the Mommy Mannegren 2019 Reading Challenge 52 books in 52 weeks. Hence why my goal is now 52 books. Wish me luck and if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.
Only one book I read this past month deserves mention.
I absolutely loved this book. I did find it hard to get into at the beginning, but by the end I loved it completely. This is a fiction novel about an island in the English Channel during and post World War II. The novel is told through a series of letters and written documents, which I think is why I found it took me a bit to get used to the style and get to know the characters. I found that to be well worth it. By the end you feel as if you know these people. I found it went in a way that felt true to the characters and I loved the ending. This is a story about people during the war and afterwards and I found it to be filled with hope and joy. The main character is quite quirky and I really appreciated that.
Book Rating: 5/5
What have you read lately? Are you doing any book challenges this year? If so which ones? Any suggestions? I am always looking for new reads.
